Festival Exclusive
Feathers flutter, doors creak, dust swirls. In the kitchen, the kettle whistles; in the attic, secrets lie waiting to be uncovered; and deep in the cellar, something rumbles. And somewhere in between, a chorus of lazy flies buzzes.
Using found objects and parts of puppeteer Annina Mosimann’s body, a ‘bestiary’ comes to life inside an old transport crate.
A surprising, funny and poetic piece featuring a little party over a cup of tea, a loop station and a synthesiser.
Annina Mosimann, born in Bern in 1991, is a puppeteer, performer and visual artist. She studied Fine Art at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and Puppetry at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, and works as a freelance artist and theatre practitioner.
Annina Mosimann’s work operates at the intersection of performing and visual arts as well as experimental music, with a focus on puppets, objects, materials and the human body.
Physicality, interstices, the unconscious and the relationship between people and the things that surround us are central themes in her often whimsical, absurd and humorous performances.
Her works ‘Masa Mater’ (2020), ‘Mycelium’ (2021) and ‘Bestiarium’ (2024) have been invited to numerous international festivals. Her latest production, ‘Bestiarium’, has been selected for the Swiss Young Talent Award for the Performing Arts, PREMIO 2024.
She also collaborates in various formations with theatre collectives in Switzerland, Germany and France. Collaborations include work with Nicole Mossoux, Julika Mayer, Elise Vigneron, Lutz Grossmann and Renaud Herbin.
